Ready to bring fiscal responsibility, transparency, & compassion to Rock County
Meet Sheila NItz. Sheila is a lifelong Janesville resident, former Miss Janesville, and a Licensed Practical Nurse. She graduated from Janesville Craig in 1985, Blackhawk Tech in 2004, and UW Whitewater in 2006.
Sheila decided to run after witnessing reckless spending on the county board, particularly the $100,000,000 jail project that was quickly voted in by the previous board without a referendum. Nitz believes citizens should always have a voice in large, capital projects.
After reading about multiple transparency issues, including open meeting violations by the current board, she decided the time was right to step up and be a transparent, honest representative for the constituents of of District 25.
Sheila has voluteered with hospice, her church, and for Sips and Sounds.
What Sheila Stands For:
- Responsible Government Spending
- Listening to the constituents of District 25 and Rock County
- Transparency in government
- Addressing accessibility issues for the aging and disabled
- Referendums for large capital projects
- Making the world a better place for our kids and grandkids
In 2016, Sheila NItz tragically lost her right leg above the knee, and due to the amputation, relies on a wheelchair. Nitz is hoping to someday walk again with physical therapy. As a result of her experience, Nitz has a unique understanding of the needs of people with disabilities and is excited for the opportunity to help make Rock County both accessible and inclusive for wheelchair users, and those with differing abilities and mobility issues
